sunnysnakeup: (Determined)
Like most of Mayfield, Sunny's preparing for the worst after hearing that phonecall, and realizing the power is definitely acting odd.  And although the tree down at the park has caught her attention today as she moves about, perhaps due to who she's lived with over her short life, she's ignoring her curiousity about it for the moment in favor of trying to get things done that may be necessary.

So first thing that morning, despite the fact she knows she probably should be heading off to school (is it still even open?  She isn't checking), Sunny hustles her way over to where Ruri lives, and gets permission to raid the Nadesico's databanks a bit.  So, paper in hand, the girl spends a good hour there perusing the files and writing and drawing things down, before leaving.  For the rest of the day, you can find her about doing the following.

A.  Sunny's out behind whatever stores sale appliances, a small hand-made cart (read: it looks like she took the wheels she managed to use for her catapult, two flat cooking pans and lots of duct tape to make it), scrounging for any metal, wires, batteries, etc that they've tossed out for some reason.  She really doesn't expect to find much, but she'll try anyway.

B.  Out behind the grocery store stealing some of the seran-wrap like plastic they use to seal large amounts of boxes together.

C.  There's a small form poking out from the car's hood.  Nearby is a small stepstool, which is obviously how she got up there, and the sound of metal on metal mixed with the occasional grunting as Sunny seems to be trying to take parts of the engine apart.  She's pretty much got permission, since it doesn't seem her not!dad can fit in it, and Sora if she wants the car...  well, maybe after things are done.

D.  The plastic wrap is now covering the garage floor, a few sheets thick, and the car's engine lays on top of it, as well as a few other items.  Sunny seems to be working presently on getting some wires together using what tools she found.  Most likely, to others, it looks a little bit like she's just messing around, but if anyone who works with electronics or mechanics look close enough, they may notice that the item's chosen may be able to be used for a small heater of some form.  Those who don't know, may just notice that she doesn't seem to be wearing any heavy or frilly clothes.

U-um... I do-don't know i-if the power w-will stay out l-long but...  I c-can build a sort of s-space heater with c-car parts and some o-other things if anyone wants me t-to and can s-supply parts.  I-I'm at 2236 St-stevens road if y-you're interested.  Ask for S-Sunny.

sunnysnakeup: (Yes! I really want to!)
Sunny had been busy since the events of the nuclear incident, working on a project whenever she could find parts to do so with.  In fact, the imaginary friends that had run loose got to see a bit of her creative process, even if in the end the drawing they saw had spiraled more into a child's representation of what had happened as the little girl processed the event.

Yet when she woke on the sixth, Sunny's mind had completely lost all track of her project in it's original context, and she'd barely restrained herself from darting out into the front yard in just her nightgown to play in the fallen snow.  After all, even though she knew what was laying on the ground, she'd never had a chance to actually play in it.  So she was more than going to take advantage of the situation.

What's this mean, you may ask?  Well, it means that one six year-old girl is having fun.  Want to catch her:

A.  Playing in the snow near her home on Stevens road?  Or maybe you're in her household?  Feel free to come help her build snowmen, or pelt her with snowballs or whatever.  Right now she's busy making a snow fort, although it looks like it'll fall over with any touch.

B.  Sunny's pulled out her project, a sort of catapult, and altered it a bit.  Instead of shooting sharp projectiles - where did she even get that idea? - it's now shooting snow balls.  Lots of snowballs.  And it's small enough she's taking it around Mayfield and pelting anyone she knows, and maybe even some people she doesn't know, with all the balls on it.  Care to tell her this is not funny?  Maybe just join in?

C.  Soaked through, Sunny's counting out change in the grocery store, trying to figure out if she's located enough to buy some hot chocolate mix?  That, and trying to reach the stuff, as it's just a little too high for her.  Care to help out?

[ooc:  Open season for pelting Sunny with snowballs or destroying her snow fort.  Or, hey, teach her new things to do with the snow! If there's anything else you'd like to do, let me know!]

In the Areas Around Stevens Road

Although Sunny had spent most of the morning hiding down in whatever counted as a basement for her home, crying and trying to compose herself, she had now found her way back out to start picking about the rubble of not only what was her home but others, looking for possible useful items.

So far, all she's found is sitting beside her, and really it doesn't seem all that useful:  Scraps of cloth, some bent and damaged silverware, what seems to be part of the toaster - wires included - and a few cans of one food or another, banged up pretty badly but still closed.

While she digs, occasionally she brings one hand up to her eyes, wiping them, and if you're close enough, you may hear a little bit of sniffling coming from the little girl.  She's also obviously managed to cut at least one foot on the bottom, but seems to be ignoring it for the moment.

Around Town

Today Mayfield, you aren't greeted by the sight of people under the affect of mushrooms, alienized, or even doing other odd and peculiar things that this town is known for.  In fact, maybe it's entirely normal for two girls to go running down the street, drenched and covered in flour, chasing - oh, no, maybe what they're chasing isn't normal.

So today Mayfield, you have two girls chasing this thing, the two girls covered in flour and soaked through, yelling things like "Puffy!" and "Puffy, get back here!"  Want to help them catch it?  Watch and laugh?  Just wonder why it is you have to be stuck in Mayfield for the 1000th time?  Feel free!

[Well, Sunny's been putting it off for a bit, but at least the adults and people she asked didn't know, so today Mayfield you are greeted once again by this little girl's voice]

[Phone - Unfiltered]
H-hello...  I wanted to ask a q-question, though I don't know if anyone has an answer.  A-according to the others I talked to here, w-we're in what seems to be the nineteen fifties and, um...  [There's a pause here, as she fiddles with the phone cord.]  D-does time still flow in our own times...?

[Action - Park]

[Regardless of whatever responses she gets, Sunny will be heading off to the park to play on the swings and other equipment.  She'll have either informed her not!father or left him and her not!sister a note of where she'll be.  Either way, she looks serious as she works her way across the monkey bars, one hand at a time.]

[Phone: Not Filtered]

[There's a pause before her voice comes over the phone, quiet but as firm as she can make it considering the situation]

I-I'm sorry if I'm di-disturbing anyone with this, but I was told that o-others from my place may be here.  My name's Sunny Gurlukovich, and, and if S-Snake or Uncle Hal is here, or someone else I know, please tell me...  A-and it's nice to meet the rest of you...

[Around Mayfield]

[Sunny's decided she should at least look over the town a bit, so you can find her at a few places now that she's arrived]

A.  The elementary school after it's let out.  Since she will have been told she needs to come here, she's found her way and is studying the place a little bit; it's not like anything she's seen!

B.  The park.  She didn't intend to stop, but the park caught her eye and she's found her way to a small playground and is sort of swinging herself as best she can on one of the swings.

C.  In your neighborhood, possibly looking just a slight bit lost.  Although she has a good enough sense of direction, Mayfield is so much larger than she's used to, and all the houses looking the same, she's gotten turned about a bit.  Those who want to just say hi or see if they can't help the poor girl, feel free to stop her.

As Sunny stays in Mayfield, she will begin to regain various things from home.  Below is a list of what she has so far regained.

Olga's Picture - A picture of Sunny's Mother, Olga Gurlukovich.  This is kept in her room by her bed.
Sunny's Computer - Internet capable.  Contains several files on various technology, including the build of Metal Gear Mk II, and also probably the code that destroyed the Patriot's AI.  Locked to other computers unless they can hack, although please ask permission before doing so, as Sunny is no sluff when it comes to closing off her files.
